How & why did you start:
Until I started CrossFit, I played basketball for 15 years. I was longing for a new challenge. Before CrossFit, I went to the gym, but the fitness world and competing there wasn’t my cup of tea. Somewhere in a blog or Social Media, I heard about CrossFit and thought that sounded fun. It didn’t take me long to be addicted, and from the start, I knew I also wanted to compete. In CrossFit, I love the variety it offers. It’s pretty cool that I learned to walk on my hands in my early twenties.
Your coolest sport memory:
From basketball times, the European Youth Championship with the national team was priceless. I have also competed twice in the Beach Throwdown in the Netherlands. The beach provided a beautiful setting, and doing CrossFit on a sand floor gave an extra challenge for competing. Both times, my teammate and I won second place.
Your biggest goal:
I don’t have any numeric goals for doing sports. I want to enjoy training throughout my life, and I keep competing as long as it feels good.
Concentrate on what you can do, not on what you can’t.
