Black Friday is on 23.11. that is this Friday. We always feel shivers running down our spines when the day is approaching and this year we have decided to have a Blackout. We close our online store on Black Friday for a day. The day is well known for crazy sales and encouraging overconsumption, but many don't know Black Friday is a 'Buy Nothing Day' too.

If you want to know more about our values and philosophy behind this decision, this is for you.

We don’t want to support overconsumption. We don’t want to encourage you to buy something you don’t need just because it is on sale.

We want to keep our pricing at a fair level where we can secure ethical production and where we can take the environment into consideration.

We don't believe in sales, and we do them rarely. Every time we see sales, it looks for us like the company could not sell its stock at full price. Occasionally, it happens that a company orders too much. It should not be a norm though. Our goal is to think our batch sizes carefully and provide timeless items without seasons. Every year we are getting better at this!

We believe in excellent quality. We design and produce Népras with the greatest care. We consider all the costs; what our seamstresses earn, what the environmental costs are, and finally, what kind of value we bring to you. In return, we hope you are ready to pay the full price for an item that is going to serve you in the long-term.

We choose to run our business in a way we do because we want to support considered purchases and we encourage everyone to think before spending money on material. We believe in buying less and choosing well.

Every time we spend money, we don’t just buy an item. We vote with our wallets. When we buy, we vote for the company and for the values it represents. By buying from responsible companies, we let the whole society know we value sustainability. Little by little, purchase after purchase, our norms and cultures change.

What kind of values do you want to support? What kind of culture do you want to part of creating?

Let us know your thoughts.

Love,

Ama & Essi
